SureWest’s – Top 20 rankings - Baseball

1. Davis (18-5)

How well is Davis playing? Well, winners of 11 straight games heading into this week.
2. Elk Grove (18-4)

Yes, we know they lost to Bradshaw Christian. Great win for BC, but we're not using that game as a barometer for the Herd.
3. Jesuit (16-5)

Marauders had won six of last seven games heading into this week, and despite loss to Ponderosa, Jesuit is playing well.
4. Oak Ridge (13-8)

The Trojans enter this week with a 6-game winning streak, which includes taking tw of three from previous No. 1 Pleasant Grove.
5. Rocklin (14-6)

You have to put Rocklin in a group with one of the hottest teams in the area. 11 wins in the past 12 games heading into this week, but monster showdowns coming up with Woodcreek and Granite Bay.
6. Pleasant Grove (16-6)

Dropping two of three to Oak Ridge doesn't help, but hey, the Eagles could easily be No. 1 the next week. That's how fluid the rankings are these days......parity.
7. Woodcreek (15-5)

Nogosek isn't pitching (resting right arm, likely until playoffs) right now, but someone seems to always step up for this team. Taking two of three from Granite Bay was big.
8. Granite Bay (12-8)

Granite Bay was 3-3 in it's last six games heading into this week and needs to take at least two from Del Oro this week.
9. Whitney (22-1)

The Wildcats continue to climb our rankings - you can't dismiss 22-1.
10. Del Campo (16-7)

They Cougars had won 10 in a row, before dropping to straight then unranked Christian Brothers. We think the real Del Campo team is the won that was on the hot streak.
11. Bella Vista (15-7)

Bella Vista would LOVE to sweep Del Campo this week. Big, big series.
12. Franklin (10-13)

No team is struggling more than Franklin. Entering this week, the Wildcats had dropped five of seven games.
13. Antelope (20-3)

Titans are playing, and now it's just a matter of staying healthy and getting ready for postseason.
14. Vista del Lago (22-4)

The Eagles are just a solid team, and with seven straight wins, playing their best at the right time of the year.

15. Yuba City (14-10) - Another league championship for the Honkers.

16. Pioneer (16-7) - Patriots finish up with Woodland, and then it's playoff time.

17. Colfax (15-5) - Playing well, despite loss to Center.

18. Lincoln (18-4) - Back on a roll with seven straight wins heading into this week.

19. Oakmont (12-8) - Still looking for that consistency with a young team.

20. Christian Brothers (14-9) - Swept Del Campo? Welcome to the Top 20.

SureWest’s – Top 20 rankings - Softball

1. Woodcreek (16-7)

Woodcreek is back in the No. 1 spot despite a 9-8 loss to Roseville. For those Tigers fans who believe they should be No. 1, well, they lost 2 of 3 to Woodcreek and are in third place in the SFL.
2. Rocklin (19-3)

Tied for first place in the SFL with Woodcreek, and playing well having won four straight since their loss to Woodcreek.
3. Roseville (17-6-1)

The Tigers are playing very well, having won five straight games heading into this week, including wins over Rocklin and Woodcreek. However, Roseville has dropped 2 of 3 to both Woodcreek and Rocklin this year, but this is a team that has all the talent to win a section title.
4. Elk Grove (16-6)

Lost to Davis, but will get to play the Blue Devils again.
5. Casa Roble (18-4)

The Rams are on fire with nine straight wins, but are they better than the four teams ahead of them in the rankings......don't think so....yet.
6. Oak Ridge (18-6)

The Trojans jump from four spots to No. 6 with wins over Pleasant Grove and Sheldon recently.
7. Christian Brothers (15-8)

This team will be tough to take on in the playoffs with Snyder in the circle.
8. Del Oro (13-10)

Golden Eagles have struggled of late with three straight losses heading into this week, but those losses come in the SFL, the best league in the area this year.
9. St. Francis (15-6)

Recent wins over Oak Ridge, Ponderosa, and Folsom, but a loss to Sheldon. Troubies playing very well.
10. Sheldon (11-11)

Any of the Delta River League teams could trade places in this week's rankings. No one team has emerged as of yet.
11. Pleasant Grove (15-9)

Recent wins over Folsom and Ponderosa, plus losses to Oak Ridge and Sheldon. Right in the thick of the DRL and can still take the league title.
12. Sheldon (8-9)

Just when it looked like the Huskies might slide out of the rankings, they get a win over No. 10 Oak Ridge. Solid group, but young.
13. Del Campo (13-9-1)

Cougars are playing well with recent wins over Bella Vista, Rio Linda, and Oakmont.
14. Ponderosa (11-10-1)

The Bruins are up and down, but in the DRL that isn't too bad.
15 - 20 (click here)

15. Davis (13-8-1) - Blue Devils beat Elk Grove, that's big.

16. Antelope (12-11) - Swept Whitney and now lead the Capital.

17. Cordova (12-6) - Winners of four straight.

18. Whitney (16-7) - Reeling from injuries.

19. Union Mine (14-7) - Losses recently to Vista del Lago and River City.

20. Pioneer (16-5) - Seven straight wins, sit atop the Tri-County.
